Western
Appalachian Region
Election Announcement and Request for Nominees
As provided in the By-laws of the Eastern Division of the NSP, our Regional Director election must follow the procedures outlined in the Division’s By-laws. That is, the Regional Director’s elections must be held by written ballot in conjunction with the fall refreshers. In addition, the Region’s By-laws provide that the members of the region have the right to vote for their Section Chief as well. Previously, it was the practice that only the Patrol Directors in each Section voted for Section Chief. The Region’s Officers have also reviewed certain amendments to the Region’s By-laws to clarify them and to bring them into line with the current practices.
This fall, at your OEC refresher, you will receive a ballot for the positions of Regional Director, Southern Section Chief, and Eastern Section Chief. (The Western Section Chief will come up for election next year.) In addition, you will be given the opportunity to ratify the amended Regional By-laws.
If you are interested in running for any of these positions, please submit your nomination, along with your platform and biography by emailing to Marty Silverman at mjs@generalpipecleaners.com. Deadline for nominations is August 29th, 2008.
