Welcome

Welcome to the home page of Western Appalachian Region (WAR), a part of the Eastern Division of National Ski Patrol. WAR includes member patrols in Western Pennsylvania, Western Maryland, and Northeastern West Virginia. With both long-time and newly-developed ski mountains located near several large cities of Eastern United States, we get a lot of skier and boarder visits each year. We are fortunate to have an abundance of good snow and an enthusiastic, highly-qualified group of volunteer and paid patrollers.
