Subject: Region Meeting, Indiana, Pennsylvania
The Region meeting was held on August 19, 2000, at the Best Western
Hotel in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
I would want to thank all of the patrols that had either their Patrol
Director or someone to represent them for this "once a year" and
I must add very important meeting. The showing was very impressive with
all three Section Chiefs and 15 of the 17 patrols attending. The two that
did not show will get their information from the Section Chief.
I'm very happy to say that our program advisors also made a good
showing. The total number of people there was 30 plus four guests. My
thanks also goes out to the new Division Director, Jerry Sherman, and the
Division Awards Supervisor, Gerit Lewish, for taking time out of their
very busy schedules to travel great distances to attend and answer any
questions that were presented to them. This is not the first time these
two have shown their interest in our Region. Although we are located on
the very outskirts of the Eastern Division, they have proved to us many
times they are concerned and will help whenever possible.
We have been very fortunate to have people in the executive branch of
the Division in the past such as Ron Verblauw and Bill Sachs--to name a
few--that remain touchable and ready to help. I would also want to thank
John Clark for sponsoring the meeting this year.
A large amount of time was directed to Jerry from the PD's about the
raise in NSP dues while Gerit explained the way the awards system worked.
Hopefully next year we will have either a 100% of the PD's or a
representative of their patrols attending.
Sincerely
Guy Lombardo, Region Director, Western Appalachian Region |
