Inform them of your interest in the program at the beginning of the season

 

 

    Ski Patroller's Manual

Obtain the Ski Patroller's Manual. Read and review all Senior OEC program details and requirements. Contact Sr. OEC TC

 

   Make Application

 

 

   Work with Sr. Advisor to develop your   training program

 

 

Complete application, obtain Patrol Director's signature, send to STC.

 

With a Senior T/E or the STC, design a training program to best help you meet your training needs.

 

   Senior OEC clinics

Obtain list of planned OEC clinics. Verify time and locations and ensure all registration details are completed for participation in clinics or training events

 

    OEC Skills Validation

 

Demonstrate all OEC skills in accordance with the guidelines to an OEC Instructor for validation and sign-off of your training log.

 

    Written Senior Scenarios

 

Complete worksheets for 2 written Senior OEC scenarios (in Ski Patroller's Manual)

 

Create 1 new Senior level scenario.

 

    On-The-Snow Scenarios

 

Satisfactorily complete, as leader, at least 4 senior level practical scenarios on the hill and have these signed-off by Senior OEC T/E.

 

    Ensure that all skills and

scenarios are completed and

documented in a training log.

 

Provide these to the Senior OEC Training Coordinator as directed.

    Prepare for Clinic/Evaluation

 

Arrange for toboggan and equipment to be brought to the site (as directed by staff). Bring skis, patrol belt, appropriate clothing and registration data.

 

    Clinic/Evaluation Day

 

Arrive timely based on information provided.
