   There are changes, in leadership and in text. The 4th edition of the OEC manual is now in full use. All teaching and refresher materials are based on this text. Instructors are reminded that this is the only reference source to be used for teaching the OEC course.

   While most of you are starting to enjoy your off season, your Regional OEC Team is preparing for the up coming refresher season. The schedule for the fall refreshers have been set. Patrollers and instructors are reminded that you are to bring your F/A belt, OEC card, completed study guide, refresher evaluation form, and a positive attitude. Instructors should add one more item to the list of things to bring and that is a copy of your instructor activity form.

  Many hours of preparation go into creating and presenting productive refreshers year after year. I would like to thank the OEC Team of instructors, ITs, program directors, and patrollers for their dedication to the OEC program throughout our Region.
